  • Day 03:Trek to Langtang (3,430 m) Wake up with the soothing sounds of the jungle and gushing river. After a scrumptious breakfast in the natural ambiance, the trek begins with ascent through a gorge enveloped in dense forest. This path leads to a pleasant location known as Ghoretabla, or horse stable, where the altitude gradually increases and the air becomes cooler.
After a lunch break, the journey resumes towards Langtang village, passing through Thangsep and Gumpda Danda, where an overnight stay is planned. The trail meanders through woodlands before opening up into the broader expanse of Langtang village. This charming village is home to the Tamang and Bhotia ethnic groups. It is important to note that this village, along with the area up to Kyanjin, was devastated by an avalanche during the earthquakes on April 25 and May 12, 2015.
  • Day 04:Trek to Kyanjin Gompa | Climb Kyanjin Ri (4,770 m) The Langtang valley at this altitude opens wide allowing grazing for yaks and sheeps. The path begins with a brief steep ascent as the tree line gives way to clusters of rhododendron, juniper, and thorny barberry bushes.
As we continue our journey, we gradually enter a stunning glacial valley, flanked by towering snow-capped mountains on either side. After a picturesque morning walk, we arrive at Kyanjin Gompa, where we will spend the night. Nestled in the scenic Langtang Valley, Kyanjin features expansive green meadows that serve as summer pastures and grazing grounds for yaks.

This charming location provides close-up views of the Langtang Lirung glacier and its icefall. Kyanjin derives its name from an ancient Gompa (monastery) that now lies in ruins atop a rocky moraine ridge. While in Kyanjin, visitors can also explore the Yak Cheese Factory, which was established 30 years ago with the assistance of Swiss technical support.
But since the day's walk is just about 3 - 4 hours, trekkers can even climb the ridgetop of Kyanjin Ri (4,770 m) for better view of the valley and the snow peaks in the late afternoon.
  • Day 05:Climb Kyanjin Ri / Tserko Ri and then trek back down to Ghode Tabela Listening to your body and weather situation an exploration or climb of Kyanjin Gompa or Tserko Ri could be planned in the morning. After lunch walk down to Ghode Tabela for the night halt. It just takes about three hours.
  • Day 06:Trek back to Syabrubesi Follow the same trail downstream Langtang River to the town of Syabrubesi from where we can ride back to Kathmandu. It takes about 6 - 7 hours to walk back to Syabrubesi.
  • Day 07:Drive back to Kathmandu (6 - 7 hours) If we need more time on the trek, we can use this day as well. Walk down to Syabrubesi in the morning and then drive back to Kathmandu in the noon.
