Poon Hill Trek is a short trek in easy access from Pokhara. The highest point of the trek, Poon Hill at 3,200 m, offers the best panoramic view of over a dozen Himalayan peaks including 3 of the top ten highest in the world. The trail climbs from the charming villages into the Rhododendron forest coming to the mountain pass settlement of Ghorepani. Sweeping view of Kaligandaki valley with world’s deepest gorge and walking in the world’s largest Rhododendron forest make the trek popular. Moreover, trekkers can get the deeper insight of Gurung and Magar ethnic people who are the most preferred ‘Gurkhas’ (Gurkha solders) recruits.

Outline Day to Day Itinerary:
- Day 01:Arrive Kathmandu, pick up and transfer to Hotel.
- Day 02:Half a day Kathmandu sightseeing and Fly to Pokhara.
- Day 03:Drive to Nayapul and trek to Thikedunga. (1,600 m / 4 hrs)
- Day 04:Climb 6 hrs to Ghorepani. (2,800 m / 6 hrs)
- Day 05:Hike to Pun Hill in the morning and then trek to Tadapani (2,500 m / 5 hrs)
- Day 06:Trek down to Ghandruk village and further to Syauli bazzar. Drive back to Pokhara
- Day 07:Spend beautiful morning in Pokhara and then fly back to Kathmandu in the afternoon. Bhaktapur sightseeing and overnight in Kathmandu
- Day 08:Drive to the airport for final departure.

Trekking Season :
Ghorepani / Poon Hill trek could be done from September to mid June. The most popular time of the year for the trek is October, November and March, April. Since the trek route mostly navigate through the foothills of the Annapurna Himalayas, the trek could be done throughout winter.
Customize Ghorepani Trek :
Ghorepani / Poon Hill could be customzied for as minimum as 2 days from Pokhara and back. The trek could be also extended with Khair Lake and Khopra ridge trekking. The newly opend community lodge based route from Mohare Danda route could be combined with Ghorepani - Poon Hill Trek.
